My inspiration!

I have always loved art. I remember my very first ventures into needlepoint and ceramics in the 70’s growing up in a suburb of Chicago. I seemed to always go my own way with designs and color once I felt comfortable with a medium.

My real jobs included working for Good Morning America in LA; Airport Hostess in Aspen (AKA ski bum); Advertising Sales and Marketing at Cowles Enthusiast Media; and most recently working with Retirees at SEIU (Service Employees International Union) and 1199SEIU. I have loved all of my jobs, including my current one, but art has been my passion.

Some of the mediums that I have worked with include needlework, mosaics, acrylics, ceramics, textile arts and fused glass.

I began doing fused glass in 2015 and got hooked right away. At first I loved creating color combinations inspired by the sunrises and ocean scenes from my home here in Florida. More recently, I have been somewhat obsessed with tropical creatures and jungle themes. My inspirations often come from pictures or my needlepoint designs. I like doing big abstract designs with lots of color and sparkle. I consider the framing an extension of the art and try to choose combinations that compliment the piece with added color, texture and often sparkle.

Thank you for joining me on this journey! I hope that my designs bring you as much joy as they do for me!
